Community Impact Commitment
The United Caribbean Association of Philadelphia (UCAP) is committed to strengthening community connection, cultural pride, and equitable access to the arts through unified cultural festivities. We recognize that Caribbean immigrant and Afro-Caribbean communities have historically faced barriers to visibility, resources, and participation in Philadelphia’s cultural sector.
Guided by our mission to inspire, motivate, and develop a stronger community, UCAP creates inclusive, accessible cultural experiences that reflect the diversity of the Caribbean diaspora. Our programs prioritize community-centered celebration, fair compensation for artists and culture bearers, and neighborhood-based engagement that removes barriers related to cost and access
.
Through culturally relevant programming and community-informed leadership, UCAP fosters belonging, shared identity, and cross-cultural understanding. We believe that when communities are centered and celebrated, arts and culture become powerful tools for connection, resilience, and lasting community impact.
